Edmund Ward FGA—Proofreader.
Am I a worthwhile connection for a publisher? Very much so!

I am not one of the many self-taught amateurs who claim to be qualified. I am a Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders—you will find my name on the Society’s directory—and I took an intense course with the Publishing Training Centre, London. I was able to pass it ‘with distinction’. Less than 5% of applicants achieve that and the majority can only pass ‘with merit’.

My best point in education has always been English strengthened by knowledge of Latin and Greek.

I have experience in proofreading novels, dissertations, theses, and business documents. I have corrected websites.

Once I worked with precious stones, and am a qualified gemmologist, a Fellow of the Gemmological Association, London, hence my speciality is in dealing with any literature on gems or jewellery.
